About 1,374 drones have staged a dance show on the Xi'an Wall, in the Chinese province of Shaanxi, setting a new Guinness World Record for most drones flown simultaneously in the air.
According to the national press, the drones performed a 13-minute show on Sunday, breaking the previous record set by other 1,218 in formation during the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, in February.
The drones took off from the Wall, recreated the image of the monument in the air, those of 15 other Chinese symbols and the number 1,374 creating a huge curtain of lights and colors measuring over 1,200 meters in length and 100 meters in width.
According to the show's creators, this was a tribute to the countries that currently comprise the Belt and Road Initiative, inspired in old commercial routes that began precisely in Xi'an and now seeks to interconnect several continents in a large network of cooperation and infrastructure.
