The United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) officially created the Alicia Alonso Iberoamerican Dance Chair, announced today the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC).

According to a statement from the company led by the legendary dancer, the event opens a new way of international cooperation in the field of training and research of dancing university teaching and other related artistic genres.

It also contributes to the study and preservation of intangible heritage in this discipline.

The approved project involves the collaboration of different Spanish and Latin American institutions, and is attached to the King Juan Carlos University of Spain.

The house of high studies located in Madrid has hosted, for several years, the Dance Institute Alicia Alonso, entity that proposed to UNESCO the creation of the chair now instituted.
