Old Havana is an outstanding place because of its Chocolate Museum, located in Amargura and Mercaderes streets. This site, created in 2003, is popularly known as the Green Cross House, former residence of the Counts of Lagunilla.

Old Havana is an outstanding place because of its Chocolate Museum, located in Amargura and Mercaderes streets. This site, created in 2003, is popularly known as the Green Cross House, former residence of the Counts of Lagunilla.

The Museum of Chocolate gathers beautiful collections of china chocolate cups coming from different nations, such as Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy. It also exhibits chocolate mugs and containers donated by the Cocoa and Chocolate Museum of Brussels. Among these, we find a kind of French mustache mug, where the gentlemen drank the delicious liquid without wetting their mustache, as its name implies.

The walls of the place is full of different images accompanied by information on the history of chocolate and the description of some of its different production processes. The building has a small commercial area which sells solid products derived from chocolate.

Some of these products are normal bonbons and stuffed chocolates, bars, figures made by fine artisans having different shapes that go from eggs, rabbits, roosters and chickens, up to cars and little men. They have an incredible finished and the masters of chocolate achieve excellent duplicates.
