Performing Arts will be hosting, once more, the “Traspasos Escenicos” International Summer Lab, a space that fosters the dialogue and the confluence of ideas around the doing of Cuban and foreign theater.

This event, organized by the Performing Arts Department attached to the University of Arts (in Spanish ISA), supported by the National Council of Arts and Cuba's Ministry of Culture, will take place from June 25 to July 1st, 2017.

“Traspasos Escénicos” seeks to promote and develop different alternatives concerning education, management and research of the Performing Arts, in interaction with other arts and social and cultural projects.

Inspired on the Theater and Coexistence idea, the event will be linking different creative, educational, investigative, educational and managing experiences around the theme Transit: individuals, speeches and social scenarios as an option versus the atomization of creative projects, caused by individualism passing through diverse areas of contemporary art and the social and cultural practices.

The International Summer Lab will mainly be in session from the creative, investigative and educational coexistence of the participants along with artistic groups, cultural projects and national and foreign professors. Each workteam will carry out exchange of knowledge and creative and educational practices, according to the agenda already agreed among the guides taking into account their experiences, as well as the Traspasos Escénicos team, as regards to the cross-cutting theme Transit: individuals, speeches and social scenarios.

The Lab's general program covers creative and research workshops, seminars, chats, master lectures, symposia, working demonstrations, and an Artistic Sample.

Outstanding personalities of the Performing Arts in Cuba will be participating in this event, such as Carlos Celdrán, Carlos Díaz and Rubén Darío Salazar; as well as foreign theater companies which have decided to meet here, to talk and exchange about contemporary theater.
