The Commodore of the Hemingway Club, Jose Miguel Diaz Escrich, also stated that his institution supports any attempt of record or event that help to convey a love friendship message between both nations, and also between those people who love the sea and nautical sports.

The plan of the trip includes kayaking - five meters long, supplied with water and food - for 30 to 40 hours, accompanied by a catamaran guide boat, until putting into to port at the Marina Florida Club, Key West.

According to Escrich, the US 'athletes' will be facing up the strong winds and ocean currents that originates in the Gulf of Mexico.
