Ethiopian President, Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, is concluding today his official visit to Cuba, where he met with his peer, Raul Castro, and paid tribute to National Hero, Jose Marti, and internationalist fighters.

Started on Monday, January 8, Teshome Wirtu's tour of the Caribbean island included a meeting with Raul Castro, in which the two leaders verified the good state of the bilateral ties and reviewed issues of the international agenda.

The African statesman laid a wreath at Jose Marti monument at the Revolution Square and then toured the mausoleum that bears the name of the Apostle in the capital.

Teshome Wirtu also urged to defend the bonds of brotherhood and collaboration between Ethiopia and Cuba during a ceremony in front of the Pantheon of the Fallen in internationalist missions, located at the Christopher Columbus cemetery.

As part of his agenda, the head of Ethiopian State toured the Rosafet Signet Artificial Insemination Center, in western Mayabeque province, to learn about the stallions the institution develops, especially those of the Siboney race, originally from Cuba. Although this is his first official visit to Cuba as a President of Ethiopia, Teshome Wirtu traveled to the island in 2016 to attend the funeral ceremonies of Fidel Castro in eastern Santiago de Cuba province.
