Dominican singer Sergio Vargas arrived in this capital Monday together with his orchestra, and he will perform for his first time in Cuban soil, with Cuban trobadour singer Tony Avila.

Dominican singer Sergio Vargas arrived in this capital Monday together with his orchestra, and he will perform for his first time in Cuban soil, with Cuban trobadour singer Tony Avila.

Havana's National Theater Avellaneda Hall will be the host of the concert, in which Vargas, with a long-time artistic trajectory in his native country, recognized in several places in the world, will share hits of his musical repertoire with the Cuban audience.

'Cuba is a country with a rich musical history. It's going to be a thrlling meeting, an exchange of music between the Dominican Republic and Cuba,' Vargas said in a message in the social networks.

Both artists, Avila and Vargas, have collaborated singing together before, and in this presentation, they will sing a varied program, centered in the popular music of both nations, including merengue, bachata and Cuban son.

For his part, Avila will promote his new CD 'Que Se Haga La Luz' (Let the Light Come), a CD by Bis Music, nominated to the 2017 Cubadisco Music Award.

This concert is inserted as the first stop in a tour all through Cuba, which Avila is offering, nominated as Best Songwriter to the Latin Grammy Award for his song 'La Bala' (The Bullet), performed in a duet by Dominican Johnny Ventura and Puerto Rican Gilberto Santa Rosa.
