Cuba will be debuting today at the Canadian-American Baseball League versus Capitales de Quebec, winner of the 2009-2013 seasons.

The Cuban chosen by the three times champion of the Cuban Baseball Series, Roger Machado, will be playing, since 7 pm versus the second most winner team of the tournament (11 wins and 7 defeats), at the Anglo-French speaking city, where Cuban Jordan Manduley has played an important role at the bat.

Now injured, the short stop from Holguin province has a 571 bat average, with four hits (two basis) out of seven.

On the other hand, his partners, fielder Roel Santos and third base player Yurisbel Gracial, have a.348 and 250 bat average, respectively.

It is certain that the four-year manager of Capitales, Alain Patrick Scalabrini, chooses the two latter Cubans for the first game to be held in his city stadium, founded in 1939 with seats for up to 4 800 baseball amateurs, and measuring 315 feet wide by the center field.

Being a former professional with the Orioles of Baltimore in 2005 and a member of the Canadian team which attended the 2003 World Cup held in Cuba, Scalabrini will have the privilege of leading his players during the Cuban debut.

In addition, it is expected that Roger chooses to open the game right-pitcher Freddy Asiel Álvarez, and Yosvani Alarcón as catcher, defended in the diamond by Guillermo Avilés (1b), Raúl González (2b), Yunior Paumier (3b) and Yorbis Borroto (ss), andr Luis Robert Moirán, Julio Pablo Martínez and Lázaro Ramírez, as left, center and right fielders.

Cubans will play other 18 games up to June 30, versus the remaining five teams in a tournament that will finish with the awarding ceremony on September 17, if the dispute for the first position reaches 5 games.

The Canadian-American Baseball League was founded in 1936, with games in different cities of New York and Ontario states; but it stopped in 1942 due to the Second World War, to return later, in 1946, and finally be reformed in 2005.

The Canadian-American League is one of the most prestigious ones and, according to Michel Laplante, manager of Los Capitales, Cuba will help to increase this prestige.

The Cuban television will broadcast the first game, and the one to be held on Friday, at the same hour.
