Cuban world champion pole vaulter Yarisley Silva sets her eye on the retention of her crown at the next world championship in London in 2017.

'I continue with aspirations to defend my world title and I will fight with eagerness to maintain it,' told the portentous Caribbean athlete to Prensa Latina in Havana.

The Greater Antilles female athlete, also Olympic sub-champion at London 2012, stated that she will open her participation in the coming international athletic season with the attendance from June 2017 in the Diamond League.

At the moment, the 29-years old Silva, is on vacation and said he would return to sports training soon in December.

'I'm calm, supporting my boyfriend in everything I can, with my family, relaxing a little, on vacation, that's what I'm doing for the moment,' commented the always cheerful Cuban pole vaulter, who has a personal mark of 4.91 Meters, among the best of this discipline in the world of all time.

'I'm going to recharge the batteries so I can start with new energies,' added Silva Silva, indoor world champion in Sopot 2014, Poland, and outdoors in Beijing 2015, China.
