Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez, received the eve a U.S. delegation formed by Democrat representatives for California Barbara Lee and Karen Bass and Republican congressman Roger Marshall, of Kansas.

The visitors exchanged on the international situation and Cuba-U.S. relations, especially on the negative impact of the imposed setback to bilateral links.

The head of the Antillean diplomacy thanked the legislators for their interest in visiting Cuba again and contributing to the debate in favor of the improvement of relations.

During their stay, the members of U.S. Congress also met with officials of the ministries of Public Health and Agriculture, and visited the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).

Representative Lee led for more than a decade the efforts in favor of normalization of relations and the elimination of the blockade.

Together with congresswoman Karen Bass, she sponsored several bills o law on the lifting o the economic, comercial and financial blockade imposed by the White House to the Island for more than half a century.

Both -details the Foreign Ministry website- traveled previously to Cuba as members of delegations of the Black Caucus in U.S. Congress.

For his part, representative Marshall, who visits Havana for the second time, co-sponsors the bill of law of Republican congressman or Arkansas, Rick Crawford, which proposes to eliminate restrictions on agricultural trade with Cuba.
