Cuban Foreign Minister meets with his Hungarian counterpart

Proof of the progress and strengthening of relations between Cuba and the European Union (EU) is the official visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, who arrived November 8 to Havana.

As part of his visit, in which he will dialogue with Cuban authorities and carry out other activities, the distinguished visitor was received by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, with whom he discussed the cultural, academic and commercial ties that unite the two countries.

From the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodríguez expressed his satisfaction, recognizing the positive level of exchange and bilateral dialogue reached by the foreign ministries of both nations.

Likewise, he reiterated the will to continue making progress in this regard.

“The recently signed agreements on cultural and commercial cooperation are another step forward,” Rodríguez noted.

In addition, the Cuban diplomat thanked his Hungarian counterpart for ratifying the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and the EU, just days after its provisional entry into force.

Meanwhile, Szijjártó, on his first visit to the island, stated that Hungary can make a significant contribution to Cuba’s economic development.

The Hungarian Minister was accompanied by a commercial delegation with special interest in collaborating in the Cuban industrial sector.
