The first Renewable Energy Showcase continues its debates on clean energy sources, business exchanges and exhibitions, among which the Cuban company of Refrigeration and Boilers highlights with interesting proposals.

At the event, which will run until Thursday and is held at Pabexpo, the director of the entity, Leonardo Arevich, told Prensa Latina that they have the only factory of solar heaters on the island, located in the central province of Ciego de Ávila, in the municipality of Morón.

The company, explained its director, is responsible for serving technological systems, production and services of steam boilers, refrigeration, and also carries out engineering projects and other studies.

Arevich stressed that one of his most interesting proposals is the solar thermo-phonic vacuum tube low pressure heater, a technique that is intended to produce to sell to Cubans, because it can achieve an energy saving between one and three kilowatt daily, and guarantees about 90 liters of hot water.

Another advantage of the equipment is that its greatest use occurs in the electric peak, therefore it will reduce energy consumption at the time it is most needed, he said and explained that in the experiments carried out, it was observed that savings can reach 10 percent and 14 percent.

In addition, they intend to develop an investment program in the factory to increase the quality, capacity and diversity of production in order to achieve a production of over 30,000 solar heaters per year.

By 2018, he anticipated, it is planned to develop over 8,000 equipments, of them some 5,000 will be allocated to the experimental program of sale to the general population, and the rest will be dedicated to other sectors of the economy as for example tourism.

He added that the commercialization would be through the company Copextel, which will also be responsible for carrying out the assembly, but he explained that the sale value to the population is still in the process of being analyzed, which should be subsidized.

These solar heaters bring together important elements such as low import costs of raw materials, and that they are resistant to winds, very favorable to meteorological events, Arevich pinpointed.

He added that another interesting sample is boilers to generate steam, which are used in the food industry, tourism, hospitals, schools, among others and whose efficient use would save tons of fuel, billions of dollars for their import, and thousands of cubic meters of water.

The company does not only look for the generation of renewable energy but also energy efficacy and the reduction of energy consumption; thus, having a double impact on the energy matrix, he concluded.

The Renewable Energy Showcase is a professional platform for the exchange of experiences, business opportunities, and national and foreign exhibitions, organized by Fira Barcelona, the Palco Business Group and with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Among the nations present are Belgium, China, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
