A meeting of the Andean region of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students (OCLAE) will be held at the National University in Bogotá on Thursday and Friday.

At the regional event, headed by the president of the OCLAE, Heydy Villuendas, delegates from study centers in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Cuba will participate.

The meeting will discuss the preparation of the region for the Educational Caravan, for the forthcoming 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, which will take place in the Russian city of Sochi.

Attendees will also exchange views on the performance of that caravan in honor of the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla commander Ernesto Che Guevara, to be held in October to mark the 50th anniversary of his assassination in Bolivia.

The young students of the area will also hold meetings with Colombian parliamentarians and will be interested in the progress of the peace process taking place in this Andean nation, following the signing of agreements between the national government and the FARC-EP of the end of last year.
