Cuba seeks for a more efficient audit management

The Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba and Comptroller General, Gladys Bejerano, has urged to contribute to a more efficient audit management and control during the official closing of the 11th International Congress on Accounting, Auditing and Finance.
Gladys Bejerano stressed that Cuban enterprises must be increasingly efficient and better, in order to fight corruption.
Previously, she gave a master lecture stressing the main ingredients for the success of management, internal control, the exemplary conduct and ethical values.
He also pointed out that Cuba is currently experiencing a new stage which the state and business functions are separated into, as part of the presently decentralized process.
In the closing ceremony of the event, there was a master lecture given by Prof. Ricardo Palhen, from the University of Buenos Aires, who referred to Environmental Accounting, and also highlighted accountantsÂ´ social role.
A master lecture by Prof. Luciano Vasapollo, La Sapienza University in Italy, related to the systemic crisis, global competition and the role of the financial system was also included in the official program of the event.
The Scientific Committee President, Francisco Borras, pointed out the fruitful results of the meeting, in which the progress and challenges of the Cuban accountants were reviewed.
He stressed that 153 papers were submitted and 13 master lectures were given, dealing with such important issues such as the university-society relation, training for accountants and accounting records.
This important gathering was attended by 300 Cuban professionals and hundreds of foreign accountants from 16 nations, including Mexico, Ecuador, the United States, Italy, Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia and China.
