The Cuban men's volleyball team won ticket to the final World Sub-21 after surprisingly defeating the Russian selection and awaits for rival after game between Poland and Brazil.

Cuba became the first finalist after beating Russia, which had come out as favorites, in four sets, with scores of 25-15, 25-18, 16-25 y 25-23.

On the Cuban side were best Miguel David Gutierrez, responsible for 19 points and Miguel Angel Lopez who added 17, while Aleksei Kononov was best with 13, among Russians who until yesterday had been unconquered.

At collective level, the winners were superior in attack (52 effective spikes for 40 its rivals) also in service (7-3), while the losers were sligjtly better in blocking (11-9).

In this way, Cuba became the first finalist and now waits for its rival, the winner of the game between Poland and Brazil, to compete for the gold this Sunday.
