Cuba is present at the 22nd edition of the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism exhibition (EMITT) that began today in Istanbul.

Cuba is present at the 22nd edition of the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism exhibition (EMITT) that began today in this city.
The Caribbean island representation includes a six-executive delegation, led by Mercedes Abreu, general director of Cubanacan Travel, and also made up of directors of the Cuba Ron Corporation, Alpitour World, Blue Diamond and the Global Services travel agency.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Numan Kurtulmus, the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization, Taleb D. Rifai, and Istanbul Governor, Vasip Sahin, who welcomed the participants and encouraged to promote agreements that strengthen the tourism sector.
More than 1,000 exhibitors from 85 countries and about 600 tour operators from 105 countries are participating at EMITT this year. According to the organizers, they will exchange their proposals in more than 6,000 meetings previously scheduled, until Sunday, January 28.
The fair welcomed in 2017 about 50,000 professionals linked to tour operators, travel agencies and other companies involved in the travel industry, such as airlines, transport companies, hotels and technology companies.
