Many representatives from Chilean airlines, hotel chains, travel agencies and specialized media had a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to talk about how to empower Cuba as a tourist destination for Chileans.

Many representatives from Chilean airlines, hotel chains, travel agencies and specialized media had a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to talk about how to empower Cuba as a tourist destination for Chileans.

Head of mission Jorge Lamadrid -who has been in the post for two months- said that the objective of the meeting was to expand cooperation links in the sector of tourism.

'We are more than sun and beach. There are activities related with health tourism, hiking, culture, history, but Cuba is also a safe place; that is what we are: a safe, joyful place building the future and the welfare of a whole nation,' stated Lamadrid.

The airlines LATAM Trips, Copa Airlines and Avianca, the hotel chains Iberostar, Bluediamond and Melia were present at the meeting.

Also present were the publication Mercurio Trips, Havanatour, Gran Caribbean and the Chilean Association of Companies of Tourism (Achet), among others.
