Cuba and Poland on Friday voiced in Warsaw their willingness to expand ties in the tourism sector.
The statements came during a meeting between Cuba's First deputy minister of Tourism, Alexis Trujillo, and Polish minister for Tourism and Sports, Witold Banka.
Banka assured that Polish citizens visit Cuba and will continue to do so for many reasons, including Cuba's cultural wealth, beautiful beaches, climate and the people's hospitality, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry.
Trujillo briefed his interlocutor on the development of tourism in Cuba and ratified the interest in diversifying ties in that field.
He noted that he would inform Cuban authorities about Banka's interst in developing sports ties as well.
Cuban Ambassador to Poland Jorge Marti, the head of Foreign Relations at Cuba's Ministry of Tourism, Marivel Perez; and the Ministry's advisor at the diplomatic mission, David Lobaina, were also present at the meeting.
More than 40,000 Polish holidaymakers have visited Cuba in the past few years.
