The governments of Cuba and Morocco have expressed their willingness to increase friendly relations and cooperation in the context of the presentation in Rabat of the letters of credence of the island''s ambassador, Elio Rodriguez.
On Tuesday, Rodriguez had presented the Style Copies which accredit him as Cuban ambassador to King Mohammed VI, in a ceremony presided over by the host party, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohammed Ali Lazreq.
In a press release, the Cuban foreign ministry highlighted the meeting between the diplomats, who exchanged views 'on the existing potential for the advancement of bilateral relations'.
He also recalled that Cuba and the North African kingdom re-established their diplomatic ties on April 21 last year at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations.
For its part, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that yesterday's meeting reflected a ‘new dynamic' in the ties between Rabat and Havana.
