The first day of the working meetings of the Cuban Parliament Permanent Committees, the deputies integrating the Committee on Industry, Construction and Energy learned about the main advances and projects of renewable sources.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Alfredo López, explained to the Cuban deputies that the building of new wind farms are planned for the coming years, with the support of foreign investment in the North coast of the island, a remarkable advance for the country in this branch.

Issues such as the challenges facing the nation in the use of biomass sugar cane consisting of 25 projects, the importance of the new wind farms that will come into operation, as well as the need to improve and train their workers, were debated by parliamentarians.

Alfredo López, Minister of Energy and Mines, acknowledged the big responsibility of the country, for which it is necessary to join the companies that are related to the development of projects for the success of its investments and development.

In addition, the deputies recognized the workers of the electrical sector in Cuba, for the work done after the damages Cuba suffered during the recent meteorological phenomenon hurricane Irma.

The Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés and Inés María Chapman, President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, attended these commission, which takes place at the Havana Convention Center.
