The China Pavilion was proclaimed the best of the 35th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2017), which was held since Monday at ExpoCuba with the participation of 3,400 exhibitors from more than 70 countries.

At the Awards Ceremony, the Jury granted mentions in that category to the pavilions of Venezuela and France, and an equal number of special mentions to the Caribbean and the exhibition site of Puerto Rico, to the latter when assessing their participation in the event despite the ravages that Hurricane Maria caused in that country.

Once again, Spain, which has attended this fair since its inception, received the prize of the most represented nation, occupying five of the 25 ExpoCuba pavilions, including the one from the Basque Country.

In total Belgium, Chile, China, Cuba, Spain, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and Venezuela received prizes, gold medals, mentions or other recognitions.

Of them, the largest amounts fell in Cuba, with 20, followed by China (5) Russia (4), and then Ireland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, with 2 each of those nations.

As reported, the Jury, composed of professionals with high expertise and experience of various agencies and institutions, took into account when granting recognition the quality and technological impact of products and services.

Among some of the products that deserved prizes, gold medals and other distinctions for their quality and design, they include Vino Tinto Monte, from Chile; Cigarrillos Brascuba SA and Cuba Ron and Corporación Coralsa, of Cuba; Yutong bus, from China; Kamaz vehicles, from Russia; and safety footwear, from Holland.
