Important Cuban cartoonists get together until the 7th in the 8th Comic Art Seminar that takes place in this central-eastern Cuban city, which has become the Cuban capital of artistic expression.

The professionals of the manifestation will once again highlight their social, ideological and cultural values, aimed not only at children.

That expression now becomes a global phenomenon; a boom propitiated by the great productions of the cinema, the video game industry.

During the opening day the President of the organizing committee, Alfredo Fuentes, gave the conference 'World and national panorama of contemporary comics.'

'It is an opportunity to look to the future, and place the Cuban cartoon on the world map; there is no other event like this in the country, so 50 participants will be enrolled in an event that will feature five exhibitions, projections of more than 30 films dedicated to animation in conventional and 3D formats,' she said.
