Cuban chefs will honor Havana's 500th anniversary
Cuba's Chefs Federation (in Spanish, FCC) joins to the activities for the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana, to be held in 2019, aimed at including the national cuisine as part of the city heritage.

Cuba's Chefs Federation (in Spanish, FCC) joins to the activities for the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana, to be held in 2019, aimed at including the national cuisine as part of the city heritage. According to statements told during a press conference by the Federation's President, Eddy Fernandez, to the expectation of proclaiming the Cuban cuisine as Cultural and Intangible Heritage, there will be a big group of activities to celebrate the Cuban capital's arrival of the new millennium, such as the presentation of writings dealing with the cuisine of the Largest of the Antilles, competitions among members of the FCC, and the celebration of events like That's how Havana cooks, and the Young Cook of the Year.
Fernández also highlights that the members of the FCC have been carrying out research works on typical Cuban dishes. In addition, there are some recovery projects of outstanding gastronomic entities in the capital, which respond to an improvement programme of the activities linked to the cuisine. Another action of the program on the 500th anniversary of the city will the celebration of the Seventh International Cook Festival, to take
place by the end of next year at the Havana's Convention Center. The main objective of the event consists in gathering the best cooks from the Caribbean Basin and from other latitudes. Its sessions include a barman show, sommeliers meetings, as well as the teaching of master courses by notorious world chefs.
This meeting will be an exclusive opportunity for business implementation and on behalf of tourist excellence. The FCC, known before as Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba (in Spanish, Facrc), is composed today of 63 255 members, among whom are chefs, and specialists as bakers and saucers, etc.
